Kazakhstan is set to introduce a cross-border QR-code payment system with China by the close of 2026, facilitating seamless mobile transactions for travelers between the two countries. The initiative is part of a broader effort by Kazakhstan’s National Bank, which is also preparing similar payment systems with a range of nations, including India, the United Arab Emirates, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. These systems are slated to roll out in phases, with additional countries expected to join from mid-2027 onwards.
