Transform Ketchup Waste with Innovative Quick Marie Rose Sauce Technique

Transform the last remnants of ketchup in your bottle into a delightful Marie Rose-style dressing with this quick and simple recipe. This sauce offers a creamy and tangy kick, combining mayonnaise, chili sauce, and a splash of your preferred spirit. It’s an effortless way to create a flavorful dressing in just minutes, without the need for extra dishes.

To create this Ketchup Bottle Marie Rose Sauce, you will need about 4 to 5 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon of either sweet vermouth, vodka, brandy, or cognac, and 1 to 3 tablespoons of sriracha, Tabasco, or another chili sauce, depending on your taste preference. Additionally, a small squeeze of lemon juice, a pinch of flaky sea salt, and freshly ground black pepper are necessary. Keep in mind, you should have a nearly empty ketchup bottle with around 1 to 2 tablespoons of ketchup remaining. A sprinkle of paprika is optional for finishing touches.

Start by leaving the leftover ketchup in its bottle, ensuring there’s enough space to add other ingredients. Add the mayonnaise, chosen spirit, chili sauce, and lemon juice directly into the bottle. Season with a pinch of salt and a generous amount of black pepper. Secure the lid and shake the bottle vigorously until the ingredients are well combined, resulting in a smooth and creamy sauce. Adjust the seasoning to fit your taste, adding more chili sauce for spice, lemon juice for tartness, or mayonnaise for a milder, creamier texture.

This sauce can be squeezed directly from the bottle onto your dishes. It pairs exceptionally well with prawns, avocado, lettuce, and cucumber in a classic prawn cocktail. Additionally, it serves as a tasty drizzle over burgers, salads, roasted vegetables, or crispy avocado fries. The recipe is particularly handy when you find yourself with a small amount of ketchup left and wish to repurpose it rather than discard it.
