His visit to Kyrgyzstan emphasized regional cooperation and multilateral coordination as key priorities. Wang Yi met with leaders and foreign ministers from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan, where the focus was on enhancing collaboration via platforms like the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), the China–Central Asia mechanism, and the United Nations.
China extended its support to Kyrgyzstan ahead of its role as the host for the upcoming SCO Bishkek Summit. The Chinese government pledged to uphold Kyrgyzstan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, with both countries agreeing to intensify their coordination efforts in areas of regional peace, security, and development. In discussions with Uzbek officials, China emphasized the importance of progressing with the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan Railway project.
