Kazakhstan Inaugurates UEFA-Standard Kaisar Arena in Kyzylorda

Kazakhstan has opened the Kaisar Arena, a new multifunctional sports complex in Kyzylorda featuring an 11,000-seat stadium built to UEFA Category 4 standards. Spanning over 20,000 square meters, the facility includes dedicated venues for boxing, wrestling, gymnastics, taekwondo, and weightlifting, along with amenities for athletes with special needs.
Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol Myrzabossynov, who attended the inauguration, said the arena represents a major milestone in Kazakhstan’s ongoing efforts to expand and modernize its sports infrastructure. Since the start of the year, 32 new sports facilities have been completed across 14 regions, with 70 more expected by year’s end.
The Kaisar Arena is designed to host international sporting and cultural events, featuring advanced lighting systems and artificial turf that meet UEFA requirements. It joins other recent national projects, including Central Asia’s first rowing canal in Turkistan and the upcoming National Sports University, which will offer comprehensive training and education programs.
According to government data, over 40% of Kazakhstan’s population now participates in sports regularly, with infrastructure coverage expected to rise from 55% to 65% by 2029, reflecting the country’s growing commitment to athletic development.
